Corporate Accountant

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are currently seeking a dynamic accounting professional to perform daily reporting functions for the management company and related upper-tier structures. Reporting to the AVP, Corporate Accounting, the selected incumbent will interface with many constituencies including our external auditors, internal asset/portfolio management, treasury, acquisitions, strategic planning, and tax teams, and other internal disciplines. This position requires relevant accounting experience, with a focus on reporting (GAAP and performance reporting), but will also provide for the ability to work on special projects within the accounting and finance functions. Required areas of accounting expertise and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Cost allocation and analysis

• Treasury/Cash Management (inclusive of setting up wire transfers)

• Budget preparation

• Financial statements prepared on a GAAP basis

• Performance reporting

• Experience with external auditors

• Accounting for management companies

OTHER ACTIVITY WILL INCLUDE:

• Preparation of journal entries (including monthly accruals, analysis of general ledger and documentation)

• Cost allocation analysis

• Coordination and communication with banks, legal counsel, and limited partners

• Comparing and reconciling accounting records against budget and company forecasts

• Ensuring timeliness and completeness of collection of asset management fees, property management fees, and leasing commissions

• Managing and creating entities in Yardi accounting system

• Preparation of audit schedules and coordination with independent auditors

• Bank account setup and review of treasury process

• Approval and coding of invoices

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

• 2-5 years of related corporate accounting experience (Yardi experience is a plus)

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Strong analytical skills, with a focus on detail and the ability to deliver an organized work-product

• Good communication skills and the ability to maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, limited partners, auditors, legal counsel, and banking personnel

The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining a team member's base salary/rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g. location, years of service, specialty, education, relevant experience).

Bonus eligible.

Pay Range

$90,000 — $100,000 USD
